Trecco Bay is a fairly small bay and is more suitable for intermediate and experienced sailors as a slight rip tide can sweep an unsuspecting onto the rocks at the S end of the beach. The sandy beach is slightly sloping and is also quite tidal so the best times for sailing are either side of high tide. At these times, W winds provide excellent conditions for jumping.
Getting there: Take junction 36 of M4 and follow the signposts for Porthcrawl. From here, the beach is signposted, but access is restricted due to a caravan park.
Parking: You can either park in the caravan park or follow the perimeter road by the west edge and park by the lifeguard station.
Ideal Wind: W – SW
Accomodation: Hotels and B&B’s in Porthcrawl, caravan site near beach
Amenities: Ice cream van during summer
Water Quality: MCSR
